While I doubt will be stuck on Earth in 7000 years, there’s absolutely going to be some of those old systems with 7000+ years of uptime. Just throw the nanite repair gel on it every 50 or so years.
12·3 months agoIf you’re going to somewhere that the address has already been added into Open Street maps, it’s amazing.
2·5 months agoThe Android app works well. I rarely have issues with it, except when switching back and forth between the web player and and the app, when it sometimes doesn’t properly sync progress fast enough.
In terms of most used for me, it would be:
- Nextcloud: contains my contacts, calendar, and photos synced with my phone, as well as access to files on my server from any web browser.
- Home assistant: both automated and remote control of your lights, thermostat, etc.
- Audiobookshelf: only really useful if you have an audiobook collection
- Vault Warden: self-hosted bitwarden. Not really all that important to self-host, since a bit warden’s clients are open source.
- Frigate: only useful if you have security cameras.
- Navidrome: only useful if you have a music collection.
- Jellyfin: only useful if you have a movie / TV collection.
Leave home 5 minutes early, and leave work 5 minutes early. Both of which will probably save you a bunch of driving time.
4·7 months agoIt’s the silently part that is the problem. If you want your personal pictures to be stored on your personal cloud, you’re a lot more likely to want location tags attached. If it just told you that it was stripping the tags, then you could disable it for certain apps, Rather than not noticing until you already deleted the original images from the phone.
Hey, it’s not like they’re errors or anything.
I can definitely see a lot of potential in using LLMs like a templating service. The entire point of an LLM is to generate something that, on a surface level, looks correct, which is basically what a template is.
I mean, crypto apps don’t prey on poor people anymore than casinos do.

IIRC, a normal prune doesn’t get rid of those, only the --all prune does that. The normal one only erases images that aren’t associated with any container.
