If one earns $10,000 per year, a $2,000 annual tax is 20% of annualized income.
If one earns $100,000 per year, it’s 2%.
The less one earns, taxes are a greater proportion of total income.
Often, flat tax concepts come (or should come with) tax exemptions for actual low-income folks.
There’s still plenty of corporate greed to complain about, a la attempts to privatize the USPS, as a single example.
The issue is often framed as a burden: “the USPS costs American taxpayers x-billion/trillion dollars per year”, instead of the societal marvel that it is.
Try sending a standard letter across the US for less than $1 with FedEx or UPS.
The USPS was founded before the IRS, and even prior to the Declaration of Independence. That it’s technically older than the US, and one can still send a standard letter anywhere in the US for less than $1 is a service we need to protect.
fr. 100% free and already funded by your tax dollars.
This was done really we’ll.
A measly $3.2b. Can hardly afford a new yacht with that!
If you’re on MacOS, you can run networkquality
via crontab and append the results to a text file. I did this for a few months on a congested network to identify ideal times to try and do schoolwork.
E: A word.
And the skills to use it; they’re not plug-and-play. Get you license and get on the air to hone those skills.
A buddy experienced the exact same issue as OP just the other day. We ran diagnostics and it turns out his computer was running deprecated DNS IPs for a popular ad-blocking DNS provider.
It was DNS.
Oh man that’s awful. The best note system is the note system one actually uses. I had no idea how to take adequate notes until I “discovered” Cornell NTS during my second or third college attempt.
print(“Hello, World!”)
Best I can do.
It really revolutionized my learning. Taking notes in this way necessarily generates a study guide which can easily be turned into flash cards.
I started with Cornell NTS ages ago by hand, then the volume of my notes necessarily expanded and the moment I learned there was a native app (MacOS) that supported wiki-style formatting and paired it all up with the Zettelkasten concept, I was hooked.
I use dailies, but not daily, as a general life journal. When I am stressed out about something I brain dump everything I’m feeling and thinking and it helps me a lot to process these things.
Sometimes I will have multiple dailies in one day, one a day for a few days, or like more recently nothing for months. It just depends on what I’ve got going on in my life.
Don’t feel compelled to make daily notes if it’s a chore, it’s a tool which can be used at whatever frequency serves you best.
It seems they would like the flexibility to administrate the server any way which suits them. Using someone else’s server would complicate that, and expose their discussions to unknown administrators.
Those are just the things I can think of right off the bat.
You’ll like it. It’s really versatile and has been around for like 20+ years so lots of support for it. It can be pretty comprehensive.
If I understand what I’ve read, you may be interested in a SIP software called asterisk. It may do what you’re looking for.
