    Yes.

Enforced, adequately high progressive taxation could do that, in fact we had tax rates closer akin to that prior to Reagan, and at one point our highest tax rate was close to 90% as it should be so as to limit accruing enough wealth to warp our society unilaterally beyond their single vote with media and political bribery, but that died a long time ago in the name of “turning the bull loose.”

But then the greediest fucks among us bribed our leaders to get their way, to thunderous applause by idiot conservative peasants and many so called democrats, today’s neoliberals, and here we are, planet burning, terminal stage capitalism, good fucking times. But hey, as long as Bezos can have a second mega yacht to keep his first mega yacht company (he really does look it up) I guess it was all worth our impending collapse.

And remember, because I feel this always needs to be said with such sums…

193 million isn’t enough for him, and 193 million plus whatever millions he made in years prior isn’t enough for him. He’s going public because he’s a broken, disturbed human being that looks at his unethical levels of wealth, enough for most of the other humans that live here to live 2 dozen extravagant lifetimes, and still demands mooooooaaaaaar.

Why isn’t this widely accepted as severe mental illness?! This is hoarding disorder.

These aren’t big ocean house sums. These are buying politicians sums, and they are only achievable through exploiting other human beings and selfishly pocketing most of the value of their labor because you can get away with it.

  • Democrats used to take the bribes from unions. It was crooked but it kept something of a balance.

Then Reagan convinced his “opposition party” in the 80s to take the same oligarch cash Republicans took instead, as it comes with more zeroes than unions could ever hope to provide. Thus the Neoliberal-Republican alliance was struck on economic policy.

We have no pro-union party in America functionally. The Neoliberal party still pays lip service to unions, when they aren’t legislating against their interests with Republicans.

But oooh, you watch them fight over social issues (that are largely exacerbated by our rigged economic system), and you’d think Neoliberals and Republicans are at odds or something!

Thats the part where an employee should do what employers do all day every day like breathing: lie your ass off.

“I recall the verbal agreement being for 42k, just as it is in the contract. Stop lying.”

Probably should look for other work once the error found out though regardless of how you handle it. They’ll invent a reason to fire you for failing to be a good lil wage slave, cowering and signing an hr document obligating you to pay the difference back. A month later it will be some “not a team player” dismissal.

Fortunately though, it might never be discovered. Corporate malice is matched only by corporate incompetence.

  • "herp derp market capitalism is voluntary! You can volunteer to further enrich the owner class in exchange for a fraction of the value of your labor, , or you can volunteer to die of exposure and police capital defense force brutality on a sidewalk as a visible threat to the other livestock to keep showing up for voluntary exploitation.

    See, voluntary!"

-self hating peasants who believe they’re daddy capitalist’s favorite

  • Exactly. It’s no different than never, ever, EVER saying a word to the capital defense force police(in the US). Nothing good and only bad can come of it. The rare honest US cop will tell you that themselves, when they aren’t busy beating a minority/homeless person senseless and planting drugs on them, at least.

That is what HR is, your office cop. Anything you say can and will be used against you.

  • Between the social policy wars they stoke with the media and political parties they fully own, and the celebrated cut-throat work culture they demand with the promise of slightly larger crumbs, the owners have ensured we, their livestock, stay at each other’s throats so we never look up at our common enemy.

Just how they want it. Snitches are class traitors doing their master’s work against their own interests.
