You don’t need to trust your coworkers to organize. And they will take advantage of you if you work their shift etc and often will not reciprocate. You can acknowledge that coworkers aren’t your friends while understanding that organizing is good for everyone. If someone is gonna try to sabotage your attempts at organizing that’s just how it is but there’s no reason to trust a coworker to pay you back. Also, I’m sorry but if you’re putting people at risk I don’t care how friendly you act to me I’m reporting you.

Well I did both weed and working out and I can’t say weed is necessarily healthy. I’m such much healthier working out and I used to be a constant daily stoner for 13 years lol. For me at least the experience is closer to a workout than doing any kind of drug as I’m actually socializing and interacting instead of doomscrolling. The lemmy communities have been chiller than a stoner on the beach lol!

Yup. I think it’s fun and it makes me explore more. Makes me check out different instances and actually actively look for things I like instead of passive doomscrolling.

I was going to join tildes until I saw a slew of posts talking about how they got permabanned for saying stuff like “I like tildes more than lemmy”. Lol… what?

Profit ruins everything. Heck I don’t even enjoy producing art or figurines or whatever if it’s for profit. I’d rather be part of something driven by passion and interest in doing something for others than profit. Infinite growth is a really bad model… if humans grew indefinitely it wild be catastrophic, and claustrophobic…

I like that idea. I miss just participating in niche forums. Keeps me from being tempted to watch something grotesque or read rage bait.

The only issue I have is I can’t directly reply to replies to my comments from the inbox. I have to tap on the username and search for the comment. Makes responding tedious.

I’m happy to use one of my other accounts but those instances aren’t federated as largely as world. If I can look at all from any instance and choose what communities to avoid I would do that.

Agreed. If decentralized doesn’t appeal to certain people then this isn’t for them. I came from reddit. I’m not trying to make this into reddit.

Well one instance shouldn’t monopolize a community. If it takes a dump on one instance at least it exists elsewhere. If I want to start up my own cat community I don’t see why that’s an issue.

I haven’t felt the need to look up anything tbh. I realized I didn’t really search reddit specific as much as I thought. Maybe I’m just more practiced and used to sifting through Google results for the info I need. Not sure if web of trust is still reliable?

Lol true. As it is right now out comments aren’t just a piss in the ocean. I prefer smaller communities and am not sure how I got sucked up into reddit considering I can just get that content from imgur and if I can’t find it here… to think I left imgur for reddit because their app was garbage but it’s nothing compared to the reddit app. And at least blocking ads makes the imgur app usable lol… Anyway, I like this way better lol.

Well from what I’m seeing as long as we don’t turn it into reddit we can enjoy a much healthier one, like working out vs doing meth.
