For me it just never shows the correct play time so podcasts will get to the end in app but still have like 10 minutes left to play. Also it has a habit of randomly skipping back 10 seconds every now and then.

I use AntennaPod as it’s the best Foss option but it’s very buggy.

The best thing I ever did was abandon TrueNAS and move to Debian. TrueCharts were a fucking nightmare and constantly required maintenance or even fresh installs.

Separate messaging app was the best thing they ever did. I’ve not had Facebook installed since.

My current server is anything but power efficient as far as I can tell. It was thrown together during lockdown from various older server components bought from eBay.

Ah nice to see that it is actually feasible then. I imagine I’d have an even easier setup too as I intend to just use Linux with all my selfhosted software in Docker containers.

My server at the moment is anything but energy efficient. It’s an old Xenon (can’t remember the exact model) so definitely not Raspberry Pi levels of efficient. My biggest concern would be the GPU idling but it seems there are power management precautions I can take with Linux so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.

I’m not sure it would be much good or much of an upgrade compared to what I already have now.

I absolutely wouldn’t have this issue as I could happily reboot whenever I wanted and it wouldn’t inconvenience anyone.

I’ve said for years that Siri is simply better than Google Assistant for actually controlling your phone. Music being the best example because Google Assistant is determined to funnel you into as many Google services as possible.

I don’t even run docker. I just run the Debian packages.

I use Kavita exclusively for comics. I can’t imagine it’s great for regular books.

I recently did this for the second time. Started on FreeNAS, switched to TrueNAS Scale when it released and just switched to Debian. Scale was too reliant on TrueCharts which would break and require a fresh install every couple of months. I should’ve just started with Debian in the first place.
