Converting power once vs X times definitely has an efficiency factor.

I think the efficiency greatly depends on your switch efficiency and how many devices you are going to power vs the efficiency of your PoE injector or wall wart.
There is also a convenience factor of not needing to plug something in locally.
Also, security, someone can’t just unplug the power supply for your camera per se.
I’ve started to use Raindrop, seems to work well and you can tag each bookmark and later search by tag.
I love Bitwarden and you can self host Vaultwarden. I’m not sure how OSS it is however.
Package manager with a UI? I like my apt and dnf thank you very much.
I have Kuma setup on one of my VPS’ and one endpoint I monitor is on healthchecks.io.
This way Kuma can monitor whatever I need and if HC doesn’t get a “ping” every 5 minutes I get an alert from them. They have a free teir for 20 checks I believe it is.
A switch will recognize a PoE device and push the full 15.4w by default. Then the device has the abi6to communicate back to the switch to specify how much power is actually needed.
