So, as I understand it, e-ink screens are all made by the same company and sold to the various ereader companies. As such, they are basically comparable. At least this was the case two years ago when I was looking into it.

Yeah…I did a lot a research before landing on Boox, and it 100% is the best. Pricey tho.

Did this for my dad a year ago, got him a Boox and set up calibre. Between libraries and drm free sources Ive got him almost completely off of amazon.

Considering this is a self-hosted specific community, I would say to host the app on your home server, and create your own private portal.

I installed umatrix recently, and having to enable cloudfare on each site is a pain.

The biggest reson for this is probably area density…the areas with fewest cars per capita are the places where things are geographically condensed,which makes public transport a viable alternative. Most southern cities are simply too spread out for public trans to be economically viable, and so having more vehicles is more pertinent.
