Actually, from what I can tell in my brief 15-minute internet search, every version of Windows since NT has accepted both because DOS 2.0 supported both. The exception to this was Command Prompt. But, these days, it supports both. Not sure when they made that change in Command Prompt, but I think it’s been that way since at least Windows 7.

Technically, Windows understands both / and \. I personally always use / just because it’s easier to type that.

Yeah, I think Firefox’s translation feature is technically still in beta.

Firefox has translation now, too, on both mobile and desktop.

And you can optionally add the Google Translate extension to desktop Firefox if you want. (It really is convenient, isn’t it?)

And you can always just plug in the URL of whatever page you’re trying to translate directly into https://translate.google.com/.

I’m not quite that young. Netizen is a “citizen of the internet”, IIRC. More specifically, it’s a portmanteau of “internet” and “citizen”.

I had also heard what the meaning of GIF was, though not so often that I could remember it off the top of my head.

I’m not quite as old as the JPG format, but I do still remember using dial-up. I still remember accidentally logging into the internet when my dad was on the phone one day. I could hear his voice through the computer speakers. I immediately closed the browser. It was something that’d, surprisingly, never happened while I was on the computer before.

Yeah, but it’s almost always used for animations. Seeing one that’s not animated just feels… weird.

The only reason Switch emulation is as far along as it is is because they made a mistake with the hardware in the Switch’s 2017 model. As long as they don’t make a mistake like that again, they’ll probably be fine.

Whenever I hear someone say “zed”, it always throws me for a loop. I follow a Canadian streamer, and they use it in place of “zero” the letter “zee”.

The original developer sold the repo to a new, anonymous maintainer. The new maintainer abandoned the repo but continued updating the Chrome Web Store version of the addon. That version eventually got delisted by Google for including malware.
