The data is non critical and doesn’t contain indentifying info so I use ocr.space API. You could probably find ways to use the tesseract libraries locally.

A governmental-ish site I’m required to use doesn’t push notifications as mails, so you have to login daily to check for updates. Updates may happen multiple times daily or once a month. I automated my server to access the site once a day with my credentials, screenshot the notifications, parse them with ocr, and send myself a mail.
XING has been my compromise. It does feel like more and more of a ghost town though. LinkedIn is where the jobs are.

One of the reasons I switched to YunoHost (the other being backups).

I’d add to that that we really don’t know enough about the use case of OP. Maybe ssh is already enough.
What’s the sketchy part tho?

For anyone interested in owning their vacuum robot check out Valetudo
We regularly use our samsung tablet with lineageOS. It’s cool for youtube in bed, or as entertainment for the kids on the road. Never felt I need the latest security features of graphene on there.
Cosmos has a comparison chart if it helps: https://github.com/azukaar/Cosmos-Server?tab=readme-ov-file#what-are-the-differences-with-other-alternatives
Other than that you’ll have to test out what fits your needs best. I use YunoHost and am happy with it, but I don’t expose my services. Backup and update procedures are barebones and I had to do some scripting myself
It’s the next big hope for a browser engine besides the 3 current ones, powering chrome, firefox and safari

I would love to get back into hosting songs locally again, but I’ve grown too reliant on algorithms for music discovery. Is anyone aware of an app to automatically download songs from certain sources based on algorithm? Picard could do the last mile to organize the downloaded files neatly

I use Track & Graph from F-Droid for a similar purpose. I noticed pretty quickly that the data I want to track just isn’t generic enough to find a tailored app for it. So I setup several reminders through the app to enter the various measurements at set points in time each day and get a nice graph to dislay it.

It helps to read the post body as well
At the least you would know it’s happening and that you’ve been compromised. A hoster might also be inclined to be a lot more accommodating than you are. And mass information requests do happen. You wouldn’t even be targeted if you host locally. The privacy advantages are numerous

There’s also https://plasma-bigscreen.org/
Although your suggestion might be more lightweight
I recently switched from radicale to baikal. Both are straight forward no frills caldav / carddav managers. Baikal has a more modern UX. My switch came from choosing to use YunoHost to simplify my home server management
Since the dawn of LLMs it’s virtually impossible to scrape web content. Headless browsers have become basically useless. I actually have to automate keyboard inputs to simulate the navigation. I could maybe try to write the javascript cache to file but honestly it’s just faster that way.
