About once a year, we get a Netflix subscription for about two months. Catch up on everything we want to watch, then cancel it.

After 6 months, Netflix forgets about you. Does that mean we count as a new subscriber every year? How many people like us are inflating their new subscriber number?

But I shouldn’t have to do that. I should just be able to say no.

It feels a bit like reading late middle English, everything is a little off but I can still mostly make sense of it.

Entrapment is enticing someone to do something they wouldn’t do otherwise.

If you ask someone where to buy drugs, and they give you the name of their dealer, you’re not entrapping the dealer since they normally sell drugs.

There are some applications that require normalizing an axis by the measured variable, usually just to make something linear. Not sure what the reason here would be.

One of my colleagues has something along the lines of superior autobiographical recall. He remembers in great detail major and minor events from childhood to today. It’s difficult for him to forget.

I myself have forgotten long stretches of my life, and even looking at pictures of myself from those times it feels unfamiliar.

There are some things that I wish I could remember better, but overall I prefer my forgetful brain to his never forget brain.
