I haven’t personally used it, but my coworker said using Cursor with the newest Claude model is a gamechanger and he can’t go back anymore 🤷♂️ he hasn’t really liked anything outside of cursor yet

At best it would hamper some FOSS AI researchers that don’t have the resources to curate a dataset.
If you can’t source a dataset, then you shouldn’t be researching AI. It’s the first and single most important step of the entire process.
“Alpha male” basically translates to toxic masculinity, and “beta male” basically translates to anyone who respects other people in any way. It’s the callsign of pieces of shit like Andrew Tate, who is a human trafficker and serial sexual abuser currently in prison awaiting trial in… I think it was Croatia?
He doesn’t know what it means to be cool, so he’s hoping that just declaring that he’s cool will be good enough to make him popular.
The problem is that the kids who try this strategy almost universally cannot pick up on social cues, otherwise they would understand that it will always lead to the opposite result. People who seriously say out loud that they’re alpha males are pretty much exclusively losers or scumbags.
VS Code slow and bloated? Someone hasn’t been spending nearly enough time in IntelliJ
Only hours? lol then that’s fine
Why wouldn’t they be able to ban you?
But they swipe left on a whole… 3.5% of people! Super picky, that’s probably why
Yeah, at this point “Engineer” and “Developer” are 100% synonymous in the industry.
Ehhhh, depends on how your titles work, and I would argue that’s at least a little odd. Most senior engineers I know are ~50/50 code/oversight, at worst. Once you get to Principal or Staff, though, you’re lucky if you write 50 loc/week.
Senior rarely translates to something like architect anymore, it’s at least a level or two up from there.
If you don’t have strong opinions one way or the other, then docker is the easy answer. Way, way more widespread, which generally tends to mean better docs, more guides and examples, more tooling and open-source support…
Some real old-man-yells-at-cloud vibes coming from this comment
It would have to be different implementations for different architectures, and so almost definitely have a C-based fallback
Oh god, thanks for that fucking PTSD bomb
