Sorry if this question is easily answerable by reading and I’m just missing it. But I genuinely don’t really understand what this product does or what its use case is. Is it a usb stick that gives you kvm access to a computer from a remote location? Like call up someone in another building ‘hey plug the jet into tower X so I can remote in?’ In which case how is this better/worse/just different from a software solution like Barrier? Sorry if I’m being borderline deliberately obtuse but the website gives no info on the home page at all.

Edit: I think I understand better, digging into it more. But if anyone has an ELI5 I would greatly appreciate it.

Also I would argue sending the actual video of what is happening in front of the camera is kind of the entire point of having a video call. I don’t see any utility in having a simulated face to face interaction where neither of you is even looking at an actual image of the other person.

The infuriating thing are the ‘do you want to switch back to old terms?’ messages. Like are you fucking serious what the fuck even is the point of that what the fuck are you even doing with these ‘new’ apps if you’re going to use the same pop ups in both directions basically.

Not a dev just a vaguely informed layman. But my understanding would be that the primary API iOS weather apps would use is weatherkit, which is not open source.

If any one ever sees a sign like this reach out to your local DOL, signs like this are illegal and at the very least entirely unenforceable. ‘At Will’ applies to the employee too and all this is is a way to scare the uninformed. You are more important than any job you’ll ever have or any company you’ll ever work for. You owe them nothing, know your rights.

While in principal I agree with you completely, quitting is often the least beneficial route to leaving a job. Allowing employers to get away with basically saying blatantly illegal shit to their employees to scare them into accepting terrible conditions is extremely detrimental. “dont quit” should always be accompanied by, “make them fire you.”

McDonalds didn’t post this sign to make sure more employees take advantage of the benefits of being fired over quitting. They posted it to scare uninformed workers into accepting abusive conditions and remuneration.
