The actual opposite of conservative in this case would be progressive. Liberal isn’t a relative term, progressive is. It’s easy enough to tell from context but when there’s already no info on how these graphs came to be it just adds to them being questionable.
Too many is still better than too few, and it’s not close. Useless comments make parsing a bit harder. Missing comments can mean hours of research.
It should be a net benefit for society. Any system in which it isn’t is a very flawed system. Like most of the world right now.
I work in QA, my colleague is exactly this guy. Breaks everything without even trying. Doesn’t even have much of an IT background, but man he’s good at breaking things.
Also, online logins should lock you out temporarily after a few failed attempts anyway, making brute force a complete non issue.

Not sure how much of their costs go to the label vs. Server and employee costs, though. It’s possible they take more of a cut than retail stores do regardless. Bandwidth isn’t cheap, and software devs aren’t cheap either.
In any case, the artist sees very little of that money.

One of the major draws of discord is the fact that they host the servers for you, for free. Anyone can make an account, click a button, and have a discord server.
Afaik matrix does allow this (haven’t used it personally) but it’s something where I am a bit worried about hosting costs if it reaches a large scale. (Also unsure about how the matrix protocol works precisely, but if defederation is a thing which I feel like it has to be, I can see it leading to huge pains since discords use case is often about being part of a specific communitu, as opposed to twitter or reddit. Being unable to join a groip or see some messsges because of federation issues would be a major headache).
