I hope an Imgur link is fine. If not please tell me which (multi) image hoster is fine here on lemmy. Here are a few pictures I took of my setup and the necromanced parts

I have four screens from four different manufacturers, with three different sizes, three different resolutions, two different aspect ratios and two different refresh rates.
Two of these are resurrected from the dead of which one has a high voltage cold cathode driver externally plastered to it’s back (because the internal failed and there was no space inside) and the other one shining from every pore because I “replaced” one cold cathode tube by plastering the “replacement” tube somewhere in the housing of the monitor to fool the driver into thinking all tubes are fine (one was defect, the driver doesn’t work without every tube connected and putting the replacement in the place where it should belong is too much work).
I am basically the evil necromancer of chaotic evil.

Habe ich auch hinter mir. Zwei Mal. Ich war bei Gmail, bin zu Ctemplar, dann hat Ctemplar zu gemacht und ich bin zu Proton gewechselt. War beides Mal eine absolute Tortur und habe da sehr, sehr ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht wie du. Beim zweiten Mal war’s dann erträglicher, weil die ganzen Websites bei denen es nicht (ersichtlich) ging eben noch auf Gmail liefen. Habe auch schon Seiten erlebt bei denen es explizit nicht möglich ist seinen Account zu löschen.

Yeah, IoT is pretty nice. But proprietary stuff can be very annoying and a huge security risk.

Nee, er hat tatsächlich gerade senkrechte Streifen im ~20cm Abstand gemacht.

Es gibt Stifte mit denen man (für Menschen fast unsichtbare) Streifen/Muster auf Glasscheiben machen kann. Mein Onkel benutzt so einen mit Erfolg. Nur leider sind auch die Dinger nicht perfekt und man sieht es trotzdem leicht, je nach dem wie die Sonne steht.

Most HDMI switches (even the ones with remotes) don’t need external power so I always assumed that there must be some power spec.
