There are only two kinds of haircuts: the ones people complain about and the ones nobody has.
Yeah ideally once an hour you get up and bring something far away into focus for a bit, stretch your eyes the other way. Stretching whatever else whenever you can etc…
I changed my typing habits too.
A man of culture. One of a kind
Legend. We have the same shoes and socks. I’m not sexy enough for white pants though, i might need to create a language or two before I can do that.
To be pedantic, that isn’t even right or wrong posture at a computer. The cat one isn’t wrong either.
What they tell you at the big big studios where they have ergonomist and fancy massages, is to change your posture often. Any one posture for a long time is bad, even straight (albeit one that causes the less stress in a given moment).
He changed the code since it last ran
I bet he learned more today than he did all of last year. One of us!
Update:
You’re not gonna believe this but i was born in gpk haha, nice to see it here.
This is nothing new, people expect religion not to be part of the “professional” environment. Dunno if VS code applies.
At the office (big corp) they don’t call it the “Christmas Party”, it’s “the holiday party”. They put lights and stuff up but no more Christmas trees/stars etc… not everyone celebrates christmas so that’s fine by me. If Microsoft wants to put a little santa hat on their product that’s fine by me too. If I was using some service based in Mexico and they put a little hat on a product for cinco de mayo i wouldn’t care. Christmas has other implications so it might be different, dunno
International trade is complicated. I say US here but almost everyone put tarrifs on Chinese EVs. Germany’s economy for example heavily relies on the auto industry, and a collapse could mean a lot of problems.
You also don’t want a monopoly. If China are the only one’s selling cars, it won’t be long before they are no longer cheap. We speak of cars but it’s the same for food. You don’t want a foreign country to have an economic handle on your food.
It’s also worth noting that these other products are often cheaper because the people making them have a lower quality of life. We don’t want to end up in a race to the bottom.
Tarrifs means they add tax on specific things to discourage people from buying it. It’s used on foreign goods to make them more expensive than local stuff.
If Chinas EVs are cheaper than US one’s, american companies could go out of business and China could take control of the EV market. The US will basically add a tax to Chinese EVs so US one’s remain competitively priced in comparison

This has always been it. Unless there is a new breakthrough, adding more data has diminishing returns and costs an enormous amount of energy.
They had to convince everyone they were worth 10 trillion dollars and that they need to be part of the energy infrastructure of the future before it all fell apart. With everyone using it I have no doubt they have to reduce the “depth” of it.
Only the sith deal in absolutes

Mel, a real programmer!
I’d add a motherfucking website. While not exactly a story, it’s one of my favorite bits on the internets
If anyone is interested there is a wonderful walk about one of the apollo flight computers
Doesn’t really matter. The important bit is he has no idea either. (It’s likely the former and he’s blaming the weirdos trying to get in)
