Fellas, is it gay when the circles touch?

Well, I for one work at a company that uses it. So you can at least have those circles touch.

So why does the official site not allow direct downloads? Why do we need projects like yt-dlp to download? Why is YouTube constantly changing so that yt-dlp and others need to keep up to keep being able to download?

Ah yeah, I get what you mean. But basically anything where people cannot directly download a video but have to resort to some additional software to download the video, that’s basically piracy.

Now some people won’t know about yt-dlp and the sorts, so they maybe even do go for torrents, again, why not? If you are such a fan of Mr. Beast (no judgement here) and that dude has surely hundreds if not thousands of videos by now, a torrent could include all of a series of his videos that you are interested in. So it is actually then more convenient to torrent them instead of downloading them one by one.

Tldr different people have different interests and usecases

Why tf not. Videos get deleted at times. Or for offline watching. Lots of reasons really.

Innertune stopped working for me a few days ago. I know they are working on a bugfix but so far alternatives like the fork of it from a user called Mal…something did not work for me either.

Yeah, not sure why OP is so damn condescending here. I just tried this app today because Innertune is currently having issues playing songs and this one works.

The interface is super confusing, tapping some buttons changes other buttons next to them without any apparent reason. No explanations what symbols mean. It took me a while to find where the “liked” songs end up. Then I later tried to find it again and just couldn’t find it anymore.

I am actually using this for quite a while but since its not developed anymore I also need to prep for the inevitable. Posted on this actually but only got one good suggestion, web based server side only though, OliveTin.

Edit: jeez, guys. It was just a question since they said “none of the others met their needs” so I was interested in that? Did that sound that rude? I am not a native English speaker, so I am not sure now. They are completely OK to ignore my question. But cool, will not ask that again and ignore such posts in the future.

It’s a really good app, been using it for a few years now on and off. Very user friendly interface.

Data is stored in a log file, which is why I wondered if someone already made a solution that just parses that and presents it as graphs. Couldn’t find that myself but seems like it does not exist.

I get your point and it was an emergency option to at some point take time and do it myself, sure. But that is not what I asked, not even sure when I have the time to do this.

Yeah, if phones go via WiFi and the computer is on a cable the IP ranges may differ and that would explain you can access only via one of the two.
