5·1 year agoNegativity of the AI crowd is so crazy to me while I’m having Claude Code Opus implement entire UIs on flutter and backend Go interfaces w/ unit and integration tests on a single go.
I have nothing to prove to you if you wish to keep doing everything by hand that’s fine.
But there are plenty of engineers l3 and beyond including myself using this to lighten their workload daily and acting like that isn’t the case is just arguing in bad faith or you don’t work in the industry.
Four lines? Let’s have realistic discussions, you’re just intentionally arguing in bad faith or extremely bad at prompting AI.
It’s possible the library you’re using doesn’t have enough training data attached to it.
I use AI with python for hundreds line data engineering tasks and it nails it frequently.

21·1 year agoChina “open sources” a lot of their technologies. They treat it as a form of competition, we’ll show you how to do x but you show us how to do u and whoever is better at both wins out, there’s a lot of short videos on how BYD taught other Chinese EV manufacturers and even Ford how their automated manufacturing plants work. The end result, everything becomes a highly optimized process. Glad to see they’re also adopting this framework with open sourcing AI development.
This is also a reason why there’s a hugeee cultural clash with US IP theft.

3·1 year agoI spent a lot of time trying to find an open source self hosted tool to replace mint and ended up just moving to Monarch and paying. Honestly it’s been a really great experience as if long as you don’t mind the annual $50.

Imo it’s bc it’s the new kid on the block. Yes it’s 10 years old but barely becoming common use in production and government mandates are only speeding that up. In actuality it’s a great language and has been hyped for a few years by people who actually use it. Python went through the same thing in the 2010s where devs really tried clowning on it, now it’s used everywhere.
Yeah 3.5 was pretty ass w bugs but could write basic code. 4o helped me sometimes with bugs and was definitely better, but would get caught in loops sometimes. This new o1 preview model seems pretty cracked all around though lol

2·2 years agoRealistically this graph wouldn’t include Snapchat, as it’s less of a “social media” than the others. Most people nowadays use it strictly as a messaging platform.

4·3 years agoAlso important to note it’s been well known the CIA uses Matrix internally for communications. If they’re using it for communication it’s probably pretty sturdy.

In my experience with windows there’s just a slight lagginess everywhere. I’ve had full gaming PCs still feel laggy just in Vscode. It’s not bad but it’s a small pain point that I don’t want to experience for 40 hours a week.
