You have misunderstood this product.
Yeah! Obviously not for everyone - but i do think people should re-consider their initial judgments. Just like I recently decided to switch to Fastmail away from Proton. I did some research around Fastmail, and to me, their missions and values won me over. For example, they help develop open standards such as jmap over imap. They own all of their own hardware - and encrypt all data at rest. Might not suit everyone, but defo suits me well and it’s been a very nice experience so far.
I very much agree with this. Not all closed software means it’s “evil”. Look at obsidian for example that’s closed source but ut has a widely accepted user base nonetheless. Vivaldi is a great browser choice and way within my “threat model” at least.
Try using Bluetoothctl command from terminal. Personally been having connection issues a lot before but it always worked when I tried using Bluetoothctl and not through KDE.
If I remember correctly it’s done this way :
bluetoothctl
power on
agent on
scan on
# (wait for the headset to appear, then use its MAC address in the next command)
connect <MAC_ADDRESS>
trust <MAC_ADDRESS>
Been mostly borked for me at least. It works as getting notified, but gotta manually claim the games.
This looks very clean, looking forwards trying it out! 😁
Thanks for sharing the details on this, very interesting!
Very neat, was just looking for this!
Recently discovered KleverNotes by KDE, while only a desktop app it’s really really nice! It’s dead simple and straight to the point markdown editor. Recommend folks to check it out.
Thanks for that! ✨
Oh thats a lot less than i had imagined actually and very neat that u can turn of re-hosting pictures! Putting this on my to-do list!
Curios about how much space is required for hosting a personal Lemmy instance? Is this something you know, if it’s not too much I would be interested in hosting myself!
Alright yeah I see what you mean. The i7-6700K was just a leftover cpu I had from a prvious computer build, and it has worked wonders uptil now as it has Quick Sync. But yeah, I was kinda hoping there would be an “easy” solution for connecting a MINI PC to some type of enclosed case for the HDDs with a SATA connection between the two. I’ll probably end up with a different use case for the minipc in the end. Thanks for your input!
Right, so sorry if I was a bit unclear about this. The rack is just something i’d like in the forseeable future. I like the idea of having a small homelab.
My usecase is media streaming. Unraid because its more simple and I want to support the good work they do there.
Am not planning on using the big machine in the future, this is just what I was able to scramble up as a student from second hand shops and friends.
I assume you mean the AMD CPU when you mention that its an odd choice? Well, im getting it for free, so thats why :)
No idea how I would connect the drivers, was hoping there would be an easy solution for this but seems there might not be? Guess I’ll have to look into something that has data as you say as I wouldn’t want to slow down speeds or make it unreliable.
The rack I linked isn’t one I want on specific, but generally in that direction. It’s a small one for sure, though they have larger ones too:
My apologies, It is mostly a media server (Jellyfinn+arr stack), but also for many random projects i like such as Mealie, Freshrss, linkding, memos etc…
forgot to mention im getting the mini-pc for free 😅
thanks for the link!
neat dude, thanks for sharing!
Just been at it myself setting up my config for glance with custom css theme. Would love to compare notes, how did you get those network graphs going?
