Will anyone acknowledge the fact that you only learn to ride a bike once? To me, the saying “is like riding a bike” means the opposite…

4·26 days agoNot a counterpoint, but to extend a bit on how it could be done: encrypted data. Or, self-hosting server part available, like Mozilla’s (i.e. GarduaLinux has a fork of Librewolf/ Floorp, called Firedragon which uses their own firefox server for account sync)

I’ve done a semi-exception in the case of Xitter. I like this new name Elon chose because it brings the possiblity of playful sounds. Same goes to Xitler.

1·1 month agoNot sure if this is what you’re are after, but https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot allows, among other things, to share the Ethernet-connected PC internet (with VPN if needed) as a WLAN for TVs, Phones, etc.

Btw… aren’t you concerned that htop uses 10% CPU? I was, and then swirched to use
btm(cargo install bottom) because the F key freezes the metrics.
I guess one could have racist and/ or transphobic opinions without knowing the harm it carries. If a person is black, and they happen to behave in a way you don’t like (e.g. smoking weed in a park); you don’t go saying “oh this black people do this, not all but some and I hope they didn’t do that”. There’s a generalization you need to avoid, and also their behavior is regardless of the color of their skin. I have removed such comments, only than instead of racism about skin color this was about gender. And I am being too ‘liberal’ here. Giving you the benefit of doubt. But it’s clear to me that if you think they’re behaving in that way you dislike because of their gender, then that’s just plain transphobia. Next comment that goes in that line, may get a 10-day ban. Discuss Rust, Linux, even Apple Silicon… not the personal decisions and life of a given developer.

Precisely. I was remembering someone else’s complain on a co-worker thay had. It was bad for this reason(s), and to make the situation even more infuriating they were able to sell themselves quite well. So they changed jobs, always ‘capitalizing’ on their frauds…

Cool. Btw, I’m using gluetun container, and sending through VPN only a few containarrs. It’s just another take, instead of running the VPN connection on the OS level and then whitelisting apps for exclusion.

One could also think that whoever packaged this was hurried while filling a form, and wanted to provide credit where it was due. So, maybe they were on the best of their intents… We don’t know.
If I were to use this, I would check other apps from same uploader. Or better, see what permissions are being asked…
In any case, trusting blindly github contributors on teamnewpipe organization is not extremely different.
