It only does a backup of media folder in paperless, so its not organizes in a meaningful way. But I never organize my documents anyways.

I do it because I like having full control over my data and services. Nobody can take it away from me or change the terms in which its provided.
Every couple months when I do server patching I run a script that downloads our immich library, paperless documents and bitwarden backups to an external hard drive. Then I put the drive in my gun safe. She knows where it is. After that she is on her own. Everything else isn’t important and she will be just fine.
Word man. If we can pull this off I really think it’s a better future for social media in general.
I mean ya, that’s not super surprising. The hardest part of getting a site to take off is adoption.

You can do whatever you want inside the container. If you wanted to update inside it, you can, but it’s probably not worth the effort. The downtime depending on the app can be just a few seconds when you rebuild the container.
Dope, I’ll look into that as well. I think im going to start with cloudflare tunnels. I’ve heard of it, but never used it. I think this may be my first appropriate use case.
Interesting, I’ll need to look into that.
Any concerns you that you may attract attention to your network? I’m interested in doing the same thing you are.
Dang dude, youre the man
I actually have an interest in doing this as well. One concern though. Wouldn’t standing up a Lemmy instance on you own network and federating potentially attract unwanted attention to your IP? Would it be better to host on a VPS instead?
My family relies on OCR to find documents anyways. So of I’m gone, they could just upload it to onedrive or something similar and search that way
