Interesting that a solution exists for that scenario. I used to use 2 podcast apps to keep my dailies and serials separate and had to manually go between them.

“If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.”
You could use terminal for everything, but first you must learn to use terminal.
I think you’d just have to buy another Synology with more bays.
I guess not
I stopped trying to dual boot entirely with all the problems it caused me. I’m surprised the community universally seems to recommend dual booting as an easy to setup option for beginners.
My caps lock is remapped to ctrl+c. I’m pretty sure I use it more than the enter key.
Search is great?
One of my biggest issues with Thunderbird is that I can never find emails I want.
Stories like this have been posted every so often to reddit. I’ll believe this is possible when I see it available in consumer electronics (and not just lab conditions).
I wish to unsee this please.
The first step is normalising the idea of privacy so people can even see the point of paying for something they can easily get for free.
The next step would be to make products people can easily use without being tech savvy. A synology NAS has been great for me and I praise the setup to anyone who will listen, but even with something like Synology people will need some basic knowledge.
There’s Lightning calendar built into Thunderbird. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/calendar/
Other than that the options for alternatives are slim. https://alternativeto.net/software/lightning/?license=opensource&platform=windows
As long as people keep buying this shit and the industry succeeds in calling this a consumer problem, nothing will change. The onus needs to be on the manufacturer and doing wasteful shit like this needs to cost them dearly.
Fast forward half way and see if the woman is still there?
I love your flag. Looks like it would make a great table runner.
Wife approval factor
My wife won’t use it if she can’t see an app for it to click on to start using immediately. Going through browsers is not an option. Not having a dedicated app on the LG TV is not an option. Not being able to find something instantly means instant rejection. She refused Plex, but now sometimes uses it and has learnt to find subtitles, etc by herself.
I don’t touch my self hosted apps. If something doesn’t behave properly on the first attempt then it gets rejected from our household. It’s only for us enthusiast nerds to put up with kanky UI and setup issues for the sake of superior functionality. Normie’s won’t tolerate it.
