Two bars… well that’s a thought, screens are so large now and a lot of times that space is just empty anyways, I rarely have anything maximized on my main monitor. Hmmm.
I now remember my main gripe with Cinnamon, it doesn’t remember window positions when turning off monitors, so if I turn off my main monitor first, all the windows will be on the secondary display next time I return to the PC and I have to drag the windows back to where they were. I suppose I’ll just have to remember to turn the secondary off first where I normally only have one or two windows. It looks like there is a Cinnamon spice extension that addresses this but the reviews are not glowing. But yeah, since everything else has been great hardware and software wise, maybe I’ll just deal with it.

Ah I see, thank you, well I have no showstopping problems with Cinnamon in particular, I would just like a bit more control, Cinnamon’s customization options are a bit slim, although maybe I should just leave well enough alone as I have had few problems and everything seems to be running well. I guess I’ll see when I get into some more demanding tasks.

Humm I’m on LMDE7 now and am happy otherwise but kinda wanna try out KDE before I get toooo cozy because I do really like their apps and Cinnamon doesn’t have a ton of options tbh. MX seems like a good hop maybe.

I was searching for a simple directory player type program so I went through a lot of different music players, I was using foobar and 1by1 on windows, I finally settled on deadbeef, I know the name is not great, but it’s the best player I’ve found, I believe it should suit all your needs as it is highly extensible and modular. Check it out and see how you like it: https://deadbeef.sourceforge.io/

Ooo my first big update after the switch last month :)
It’s one of the most popular sites on the internet so of course it is. Brokers have been selling accounts and engagement since Reddit was born, I can only assume it’s pretty big business now.

Thanks for the deep dive, yeah that seems really suspicious, the pdf of that study definitely looks like it was paid for by someone with an agenda, seems to be the opposite of what I suspected, going towards alarmism. I feel like anyone who’s up for taking a survey on AI is already into AI so it’s pretty skewed. I suppose one thing from that study did make some sense:
Many people who are using AI relationship technologies report that they prefer AI communication over engaging with a real person in a genuine relationship.
Sure, everyone loves a sycophant who hangs on their every word and agrees with them all the time… for a while at least.

One in five are you god damn fucking serious? I keep hearing about this, it’s feeling like astroturfing to make it seem/feel normal. If people don’t even need each other anymore it’s over we’re fucked.
This has really be the ultimate version of telling customers what they want instead of listening to them, what a wild ride.
