New to linux. I tried this same thing in a virtual machine. I got a lot of stuff to work, but it seems like any services and daemons have to be installed on xbps because the ones from nix can’t be enabled for Runit, or at least require doing that in a different way. So I would install those services through XBPS and everything else with Nix-Env which was enough to get a WM up, but I kept running into issues installing other things.

Now I’m running Void directly on my computer and I’m sticking to XBPS and so far it has gone a lot smoother, but I’ve heard about this Void + Nix thing a lot, but never really seen mentioned what the recommended approach to that is

This is a legit observation. However, I would argue that spaces needs a set indentation width anyway, so if tabs had a set indentation width that coders are expected to maintain when aligning code, it wouldn’t make a difference. Enforcing that in practice may be different, but in theory it works.

They want to privatize Russia’s state oil and gas firms and expropriate the profits. The same thing they have done for the resources of countries all over the world. Proof? You can see it in public. Leaders and pundits in NATO are already floating around the idea of regime change in Russia. They are going to try to start a coup and put in a US friendly leader in Russia.

I hope they do it. I thought it was a mistake when they decided to rewrite the codebase with no hope of merging the federation changes. Federating their community could have brought thousands of active users into the lemmy network. Instead, it became this isolated community. I’m glad they are reconsidering now.
