Hah… I used to search up an issue and see my own unanswered question on reddit as the first result. ಠ_ಠ

Hey thanks !
FYI the panel configuration is in “$HOME/.config/ xfce4/panel/” if I remember correctly
Hi OP. Really awesome XFCE rice.
Would you mind sharing the xfce panel. Also what icons are those ?
Gunpachi@lemmings.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•Please don't use Discord for FOSS projects10·1 year agoI also think discord nitro is kind of B.S . The only reason I still use discord is because my friends use it.
I wish there were similar features in Matrix clients like Element. Just the voice channels feature will be enough for me.
Revolt chat is a good alternative. It lacks in features but its pretty good for an FOSS project. I tried to convince my friends to use it but they crawled back to discord after 2 days.

I also found another theme named - Bazik
Looks like “tree style tabs” extension on Firefox.
Alternatively you can try Floorp browser (fork of firefox) which includes this by default. It’s like a mixture of Vivaldi and Firefox, but mostly Firefox.

‘Open in new tab’ and ‘infinite scroll’ options.
Oh and also… Search suggestions as you type, that would be awesome.
I quite like this search engine as it is right now. The features I mentioned are all ‘nice to haves’ so it’s not a big deal even if these are not added.
I saw this on another post about Searx. I was curious so I checked out the search and its pretty good. I did not see a lot of settings to configure tho
Its a meta search engine that you can configure. It’s also selfhostable.

I am aware of other instances, but my friends and family don’t understand the point of it. Anyways… I’ll see if I can get them to try other instances of Jisti.
Gunpachi@lemmings.worldtoUnixporn@lemmy.ml•How do you theme a wm like qtile to look good?6·2 years agoBasically it’s a piece of software that renders visual effects. It can also eliminate Frame tearing and minor janky visuals that you would see in a Window manager session.
Picom is the one people usually use in Xorg.
Picom allows you to specify window border corner radius and such which can help you fine tune your Rice’s looks.

I made my friends (who don’t care about free software) switch from google meet to jitsi for video calls just the other month.
The only thing that got them sold on jitsi was that it required no login.

I have tried Buyvm when I was getting into selfhosting during the pandemic.
They were pretty cheap too, not sure about the pricing these days but you should take a look.
