Consumers are getting fucked. Media companies will continue to make it worse while trying to improve their bottom line. How long until it is all pay per view at sky high prices that only keep going up?

I try to own my media in physical form as much as possible. But I don’t think it will be long until physical is not an available format. Or unaffordable, like vinyl is now.

We should have resisted and stopped the DMCA. We should stop all media being rental only. But we do not resist, we comply. We bend over and get fucked like the sheeple we are.

Until consumers take control of their government they will continue to take it up the ass from corporations. They count on you to comply.

The near stranglehold YT has had on online video could not last forever. I think they’ll be the 800 pound gorilla for years to come, but I hope many smaller guys pick up speed as YT continues to throw its weight around. And I believe YT will continue to shit on users and eventually pay a high price for that.

People that get tips should make at least minimum wage like everyone else. The employer should not get to pay less because someone gets a tip.

I always try to tip in cash. First so the person getting the tip can decide if they want to declare it as income. Second so it goes where I intend it to go.

20% is a good tip. More is not necessary.

I always decline tipping on the screens.

Never pre-tip. Tipping should always happen after service. You won’t get a refund on that tip if the service is bad.

Thanks for this info. One day I will buy a projector. They have seemed to be superior and cheaper overall than most TVs now. This is just another tick mark in their favor.

I would buy some shitty old desktop off ebay and use that to rip CDs. Almost any old PC with DVD or CD drive will do this easily…preference on a DVD drive because you can do more with it like play DVDs.

I still sort of do what you describe. My truck has a CD player in it and I’ve bought a lot of CDs for cheap in the last few years. I do also have an MP3 player but I have not changed the music on it for a long time now.

I don’t let my purchased CDs out of the house now. Baking them in my truck seems like a BAD idea. I copy them using something like this: https://store.microboards.com/CDDVD-Duplicators_c_37.html . I got the 2 drive one from someone on Craigslist for $50.

Thing is pretty awesome. Outputs FM radio from your CD with good “skip protection”. I was considering paying for Satellite radio on a rental car before I bought this. Now I can play my music on any car. And on several receivers in my house at the same time. I can make my own little radio station. So it really extends the usefulness of my CDs. I can also take it hiking / biking / etc. because of the great skip protection (60 seconds!).

I have a few, select cordless tools. Drill is the first that comes to mind. I also have a corded drill because it was cheap to buy and has much more torque than the cordless.

Hmmm. Drill might be the only one. Most of my use is around the house so not a lot of need for cordless.
