Das kommt, wie schön erwähnt wurde, sehr auf Branche und Arbeitgeber an. In der Tech Branche habe ich z.b. bisher noch nie irgendein Zeugnis zeigen müssen, nicht mal direkt beim ersten Job nach der Ausbildung. Hier war immer der Bewerbungsprozess wichtiger als alles andere.

I kinda feel sad about this whole ai tooling. For me programming was always more like art. But this gets lost now with all the ai stuff.

Eigentlich sollte es für den AG kein Thema sein, lässt sich ja von der Steuer absetzen. Verstehe gar nicht wieso das bei vielen immer so kompliziert ist. Schließlich ist das ein einfacher Weg seinen Mitarbeitern was gutes zutun und das ohne Nachteile.

Wär schön wenn das Subventionieren durch den Arbeitgeber einfacher / verbreiteter wäre. Damit ist es dann schon immerhin ein 17 Euro Ticket. So ist es halt ein no-brainer selbst wenn man nur gelegentlich fährt.

It’s the same way for me. I don’t know if my work is this trivial or I’m just “good enough” at it, but it takes me much longer to prompt the chat to get what I want than it takes me to just write it myself.

I honestly kinda feel like I’m using this ai stuff wrong, but outside of generating some basic unit tests and a little better auto complete it feels kinda useless in my day to day work.

I see it as a win, I love refactoring bad code . Just feels so nice afterwards.

Especially when you can remove thousands of lines of duplicated ui code.

Have you considered buying a used thin client / mini PC?

Since the Orange Pi 5 sounded interesting, I checked it out and it’s rather expensive. Well at least for me.

I found it from 180 to 200 Euro for the 8GB version. An used thin client or mini PC can be bought for half the price and most of the time it comes with 256gb storage included.

The extra cost for energy should be less than what you might be paying extra for the Orange Pi plus storage.

Yeah it’s crazy, I live in a more rural area around Hamburg but have to commute to Hamburg from time to time. It’s always weird, as soon I enter the city the 4 / 5G just becomes super slow…

Komme raus hier in den Kreis Pinneberg, meistens deutlich kühler und dazu meist ein frischer Wind. :D Bekomme jedes mal ein Schock wenn ich an heißen Tagen nach Hamburg muss. Die Luft steht einfach in HH…

God, and I pay 45€ for 250 Mbit down and 50 up… Germany is so expensive in this regard. Could get 1Gb down and I think 250 up but that would cost like 90€…
