I used to root all my phones a decade ago. Now I just don’t see a point to it.

thats because everyone is trying to treat ai as if its what movies promise us. its not there yet, if itll get there at all. it can be a good tool in the tool chest but its far from being the only tool. like ai might be able to speed up blood tests or screen for more things but its not gonna replace a good doctor yet. or can monitor everyone whos vitals are being monitored and can flag times for doctors to follow up on that arent life threatening that could be missed currently.

only kept my monitor box in case i need to move. first world problems of owning a super ultrawide.

All they has to do was release. Press statement thanking the 3rd party devs, acknowledging their effort and contributions, and saying they are taking reddit in a new direction that precludes the third party apps.

What I don’t get is that if they were honest up front most of us would’ve accepted it. It’s the being abusive part that got me to leave. All they had to do was put out a pr spin and use some fluffy language to thank the 3rd party devs but acknowledge reddit is changing amd they couldn’t even do that.

i have the hub max and rarely use it as anything but do like the ability to do so. i hate how quiet mine is, i dont know if its because of where its placed but a mini sounded louder in about the same spot. my mom got a fire tablet that she hates because she cant get the play store on, and she doesnt want me to root it. so this seems like a good natural fix for both things to me. it would give her a nice tablet that actually works and she might actually use home automation stuff.

mine even manages to do it for the price they advertise. and without a data cap. and without having to have a comcrap router in order to pay more to not have a data cap. i had my own router i didnt want to use theirs mine was better. but the only way i could find to pay to not deal with the cap was to have their router. fuck that.
