Yea I’m not using anything that requires an app. If there’s an app I can host myself I might use it but I won’t rely on anything that can’t be controlled manually. The place I rent now has ceiling fans that are controlled by remote and I fucking hate them. It uses a shitty up/down button that has a horrendous delay or both the light and fan. It’s all the frustration of using a pull chain with no improvement. I can’t even figure out how to get it to switch directions for winter.

Our IT sent out a test once that was a fake “someone sent you this document on teams” link and I fell for it assuming it was another stupid microsoft workflow for sharing documents. The only reason I didn’t actually hit the log in part that would have got me reported was because I didn’t care enough about whatever it was that was supposedly sent to me.

He looked over the shoulder of one of the script kiddies he hired and saw 2 lines with the same SSN, freaked out, remembered some database words he picked up somewhere and hopped on twitter.

I doubt that actually works to get people off that mindset. It’s just a funny twitter joke people have latched onto. Other than that 100% agreed. If he’s fallen into this manosphere shit things probably aren’t going well for him socially and he probably needs help to get out of it. When I was young I certainly did and was fortunate enough to get into a much better environment after I got out of high school that corrected my mindset (for the most part, there’s always a need for self-reflection). While deserved, ridiculing him for these beliefs won’t get anywhere other than to make him feel more isolated.

The fact that you can only open the calendar from the clock on your main monitor is probably the most annoying thing to me. It’s not huge as far as functionality goes but I can do it on my Win 10 desktop, so wtf happened?

I’m aware and I’m working on a solution for myself. I’m just stating the reasons why there is so much friction. They churned out a turd of an OS and people don’t like it and they don’t give a shit that people don’t like it.

I use it at work. It sucks so much worse then 10. I fucking hate that OS so much. It’s worse than 8. Some of the problems I have may be configurable on a personal PC but the fact that these things were decided as the “default” doesn’t give me any confidence in the people making design decisions at Microsoft.

I tried rebooting it but that didn’t fix the problem. It’s a GE if anyone needs a brand to avoid.

So… just don’t let me use self cleaning… Why does the whole thing need to be bricked because the lock doesn’t work for a single function I’m not using? It doesn’t lock when you use it for baking.

So funny story. My stove is currently inoperable because the door lock on the oven is fucked up somehow. Why an oven needs a door lock and why the door lock being fucked should prevent the whole thing from working I cannot tell you. I’ve literally never used it. Thanks whoever programmed that…

Phone makers make no money if you don’t buy new phones

Maybe they should make a new phone thats desirable then. I’m still running on a phone from 2016 because there’s no modern one that wouldn’t lose me functionality that I use all the time. Anything I buy would be a downgrade.

The company I work for disabled the taskbar settings when they put out Win 10. I’m Assuming they will do it on Win11 too so I may not have that option but thanks for the info anyway I’ll certainly try it.

I have to use it for software testing and I fucking hate the UI with everything crammed into the center of the taskbar. Beyond that it’s running in a virtual desktop and I don’t go beyond launching apps in it so I really can’t say. My work laptop is supposed to be upgraded next week, im sure ill find plenty to bitch about then.

My job involves going out to sites to install equipment sometimes. This means as long as I’m walking out with a box in my hand I can leave whenever I want. My boss doesn’t care where I am as long as things get done.
