This is exactly the problem they face. I use GIMP since ~15years. Any change they make will annoy me to a degree. But I also understand that getting into the UI is not that easy. They somehow have to manage these two completly opposing interests.
Used to do that when I was working in science. I also kinda loved it. Just interesting to intimately experience how people thought back in the 80s. There are surprisingly many Fortran 77 libraries still in use today (they can be called from modern Fortran code).
I was actually just adding more criticism. They obviously negated that people can have more than one native language. There is a lot to criticize on that presentation. I’d file it under “Data can be ugly” tbh.
On the other hand, doing this “cleanly” is near impossible. The language situation is way to complicated to present “the demographic of languages of the world” in a single graph without oversimplifying and misrepresenting stuff.
Some of the missing are left out languages. E.g. there are ~200 million speakers of turkic languages, but they only cited Turkish with ~71 million. Amd they didn’t include a single Bantu language. There must be more than 300 million Bantu speakers.
It is also kind of weird that they give numbers to the tenth part while using wild estimates. Turkey has 85 million inhabitants and up to 10 million native speakers outside of turkey. There are no official ethnicity numbers from turkey as ethnicity is not registered. Also no one knows how many turkish speakers exactly live outside of turkey. But they give us numbers to the tenth part? The situation will be similar for the other languages.
Hm? 68 is almost 166?
Should include a concept to reduce impervious surfaces in modern times. User experience is not the only variable.

Difficult to assess this info without knowing how the data was created.
Most employers wouldn’t use a investigator. The normal thing would be to get an assesment from the Medizinische Dienst. But only if they can justify their suspicions, not as a general thing for all sick employees.
I think they framed it as “get well” visits. I think “control visits” without plausible suspicion of fraud would be illegal. There are procedures to do this in Germany.
Same for me with python, I always fall back to R after 10 minutes of trying to do it in python. :)
Is it better than R? I am not so much into python (too embedded in R).
Probably some truth to that. Also, when Simpson first came out they were quite unique. Nowadays there is a lot of edgy comic shows around.
All I see is “Ooooh look, we use AI!” which actually repels me quite a lot. The page leaves the impression that photoshop is a toy, not a tool.
