I install KDE Plasma on laptops I intend to use as a server. If the PC is easily reachable you can use the GUI to quickly manage files or use the terminal. Disable search indexing if you install GNOME or Plasma. I never used Debian but I assume the base system is as clean as it can be.

Model is Uptech SW-116, it has “Uplink” port and 16 LAN ports. It also uses external power.
WAN and LAN1 ports on router 1 is used. LAN3,4,5,6 and Uplink ports are connected on the switch. (model is Uptech SW-116) Uplink is connected to LAN1 on router 1. Other connections go to wall. I disconnected other routers, problem persists.
First router has DHCP enabled with range 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.80. Second one has “DHCP Relay” enabled with relay server set to 192.168.1.2. Third router has DHCP disabled.
2nd router is used as a wireless AP, getting rid of 3rd router is exactly what I am trying to do.
FYI, Plasma Bigscreen is not ported to Plasma 6.

What is kwin_wayland_wr? Also do you really have 6 GiB RAM installed? If not you may be able to reclaim some of it via UEFI if the RAM is assigned to iGPU.

Aurora Store instead of Play Store, Firefox with UbO and Adguard DNS. I feel Android does look over my shoulder (why do I need to use ADB to disable uninstallable apps or install pre Android 6 apps?!) but not in the context of privacy. I don’t know how having GMS enabled w/o being signed in affects being tracked.

All OS have advertising ID. Windows does, macOS does (TIL from you), Android and iOS do. Linux doesn’t for obvious reasons.

For on disk deduplication, Steam supports user-specified locations for installing games and dependencies like Steam Linux Runtime. 2 users can theoretically use the same Steam library at the same time. To evade issues, auto updates should be disabled in the Steam clients. Steam doesn’t support completely disabling updates afaik, the best is setting update period to 3.00-4.00 AM. DXVK cache files must be located outside the Steam library folder. Otherwise if 2 people play the same game with Proton at the same time, cache files may be corrupted. I tried to do sth similar with limited success using Steam remote play. This is great but I have 2 questions:

If you booted windows right now and played a game would it power off?
The PC does power off when playing on Windows. Sometimes right away, sometimes a few minutes or hours later.
On Windows there is an odd way of throttling which only sometimes triggers and lowers CPU frequency to 1380 MHz. It is bypassable via custom power plan. As I said, it only sometimes triggers. On Linux iGPU is never throttled and CPU is throttled around 97 C to speeds slightly below max MHz. Shutting down is, under normal circumstances, for situations where throttling fails. I have another laptop which successfully throttles and keeps temps below 90C.
I get thermal shutdown warning if I actually stressed the PC. (ie. played a game)
Why does it have more RAM than storage?
