A “server” in discord is just like your own tenancy in a cloud. It’s your own little space but the infrastructure and platform is still owned and hosted by the cloud provider.

Just wanted to share I got a brand new GIAC cert (GCAD). I participated in the beta exam so I have a single digit credential ID, meaning I was one of the first people in the world to be certified. I also have a single digit credential ID for thr GDSA cert that I got a couple of years back.
Because the majority of people don’t actually know or care about what the fediverse is. They just wanted to jump ship and BlueSky was the convenient one for them.
That’s why it helps to have a staging environment as well.
Isn’t he too close to the tv?
Any interesting US-based conferences in 2025 outside of RSA/Defcon/Blackhat? I already have local conferences in my city lined up (BSides, OWASP, etc.) and want to get first dibs on travel budget.
Will it be free shipping since it’s over $35? And will they honor 30-day returns?
Is this like prions for software?
I’m attending BSides right now and holy crap one of the three rooms for talks is just all AI topics for the entire 2 days. Not that it’s bad, but the talks do become repetitive, and it’s the same stuff being said over and over again. The organizers also probably didn’t anticipate the number of people interested in the topic because they put those talks in the smallest room among the three. And the biggest room was like less than half filled at maximum.
Most probably use it for work.
Me when I have a 30 min meeting in the middle of the day where I am the organizer and need to lead the discussion.
Reviewing for a GIAC certification exam next week. It’s a beta exam so my score will help dictate the passing score when it officially comes out next year.
Tubi is way better anyway.
From hacker stock photos to now weird AI generated thumbnails.
This doesn’t actually relate to the topic, but wanted to ask anyway since it’s the latest post:
For folks working on cloud environments, do you use an interconnected environment between two or more cloud providers? For example, having a production environment with one provider but federating identity on another provider. I ask because my current job is very silo’ed, as in every component of our infra is with one CSP only. I was just wondering how common it is in the industry.
Yeah it really actually only takes a couple of big users moving to Mastodon to cause a domino effect of a mass migration. I hope more people with tons of followers start moving over.
Ok the push notification pop up started to piss me off halfway down lol. But yeah, this is a cool demonstration.
Like the “Come to Brazil!” comments on every music video or concert on youtube.
Pot meets kettle.
For starters, maybe have them try checking their email address in haveibeenpwnd. If they are willing to read an article, they can read this: https://www.privacyguides.org/articles/2025/03/10/the-privacy-of-others/.
