There’s a pretty massive difference between Russian election interference, which has quite a bit of evidence behind it, and COVID 5G, which makes zero sense at all.

I would be legitimately impressed if the data is scaled based on the volume of the implied cylindrical section defined by that surface border, if only because that’s a pretty annoying calculation to make.
Linux in general. MacOS if fine, but the app ecosystem is often annoying. And Windows is just a complete dumpster fire these days.
I kind of feel like Frozen makes no sense and is a loosely contrived plot wrapped around what they knew would be a hit song.
That’s assault. Record that next time and get yourself a settlement.
Yes, this is completely unrealistic. No tenured IT professional is just going to announce that they’ve doubled workflow efficiency overnight. They’ll slow play the improvements until it becomes absolutely necessary to reveal them, and then act like they’ve been putting in extra work when in reality they’ve been spending 6 hours a day writing new Quake 3 mods.
I think that when you deny individuals agency by assuming they are brainwashed, then it’s difficult to have democracy.
Socialism is when nobody works.
I mean I guess you can go all Fountainhead and just live in the woods. Of course, you’ll probably die if you don’t do any work, but you definitely have a choice.
It helps if you have thick skin. It is definitely tough if you don’t deal with rejection well. Though I will say that it can help you develop some of those traits.
Because OP has friends but no Internet. They’re dating like it’s 1999

Didn’t you just say “it’s a good idea to have this stuff saved”
Hey buddy can you step over here, there’s a very tall cliff I want you to see
It depends on what content you consume I guess. On Reddit, news subs generally enforce decorum pretty strongly which really eliminates outright trolling. On lemmy there is the opposite of this in many places - lemmygrad and hexbear openly state that it is their goal to shit up threads to deny “shit libs” a platform, and the mods on several major instances seem to openly allow it.
So if you never consume that kind of content on either platform, you’d never notice the relative toxicity of lemmy.
Right now lemmy feels more toxic to me than reddit in many ways. I’ve never been on a reddit news thread where people were openly trolling and posting pictures of pig shit in response to comments they don’t like.
A lot of people on lemmy are just bad at first principles of economics and politics. They don’t quite get (as Marx didn’t) that the structures of capitalism arise from scarcity and complexity, and that it doesn’t matter what you actually call the mediation of scarcity via a monetary proxy - the end results will be largely the same. Which is why the focus needs to be on understanding these complex systems comprehensively and regulating them. Not useless bumper sticker platitudes quietly celebrating even more violence.
Edit - yeah, exactly, there’s no bigger threat to outdated ML orthodoxy than a freshman economics textbook
