This Russiaphobia is so completely out of fucking control.
This is why I’ve stuck with Emby.
I get why people switched, and I’m open to it eventually, but Emby is much more polished. That’s not to say the Emby clients don’t also crash from time to time.
I understand you don’t feel understood. Perhaps you are not communicating as effectively as you believe you are.
Hmm. So doubling down then.
Declaring that the only legitimate feedback comes from people who are also capable of doing the work is not a good way to solicit constructive feedback.
God forbid people offer feedback.
I run queries throughout the day that can return 8 million+ rows easily. Granted, it takes few minutes to run, but it has never caused a single issue with overheating even on slim pc’s.
This makes no fucking sense. 60k rows would return in a flash even on shitty hardware. And if it taxes anything, it’s gonna be the ram or cpu- not the hard drive.
Thanks for the heads up! Tired of trying to make the Emby app work for audiobooks.
I just wish their official app would get out of beta already. It’s been stuck in limbo forever.
If it’s anything like Emby, it blows for audiobooks. Lacking essential features, and regularly loses its place.
LoL. That feature is literally the only reason I also have a Plex docker pointing to my library. But they’ve definitely not been supporting it for a while, because I don’t think it’s worked well in forever. Last few times I tried it with friends, we ended up having to just try to hit play at the same time.
Oh well. One less container now.
Apple TV is rad, because you can pair it with a controller, and use the Steam link app to play on your computer from another room.
No need to have the computer near the tv for couch gaming. No need to listen to the pc fans screaming.
Do the Ecobees have any issue if you block their access to the internet? Any issues making it lan only?
Thanks! I’ll give it a whirl.
What self-hosted alternative would you recommend for document collaboration? Word processing docs, spreadsheets, pdf’s, etc.
I was using Nextcloud, but it’s not been as straightforward for file-sharing as I’d like, multiple people can’t work on a document at once, and it doesn’t save changes consistently (especially with fillable PDF’s).
So then save cash, set up a raid array, and get multiple proper backups running. You need to do steps 2 & 3 regardless.
Nextcloud. Works super well.
Plus certbot and acme easily auto renew the certs.
