I did dabble with streetcomplete. It is still in my phone. But, I found just using the browser and using satellite imagery to locate places and creating & editing was much easier, especially using a keyboard and mouse. It also makes the task easy.

I found it initially daunting to edit, given multitude of options. But, the locations I frequently visit were not covered. So, I started creating places that existed and just tried to put in as much data I can, but ensure the bare necessary information is always there (like name, services offered, cuisine, open /close times etc.) Now I have the hang of it and when I cannot find the place, I go spend a few hours and try to create/ update, so that it is useful for the next person. It is not hard, if you give it a shot.
