This seems like a pretty dumb thing to do to try to wipe out a browser with 2% marketshare.

ugh… this reminds me of a compilation error I got that complained about an unknown character. Looked through the file, didnt notice anything, passed it around for other people to check and no one noticed anything until one person noticed that the quotes were being autocorrected to the straight quotes instead for some fucking reason. I didnt see it because 1) why would that even be a thing and 2) I am almost legally blind without my contacts.

People that create content are arguably much more likely to have used the apps that were killed off and much more likely to recognize what reddit did as something that will eventually lead to it being irrelevant. The latter reason is why I dont go back there much. I watched Digg and Slashdot become irrelevant has beens and Reddit is on a fast track to join them.
Tbh I dont think that the traffic data Ive seen suggests that there was a long term drop but subjectively the content on a lot of subs has dried up substantially. It seems like people still go there but the actual content being made is just a trickle compared to what it used to be
Bitlocker is supposed to lock out people that should not have access to the data on that PC not lock the owner out.
Tbh… Itd probably be easier to back up files and settings and do a clean install of 12. If you try to upgrade in a chain like what you are wanting to do, not only is it going to be very tedious, something is virtually certain to break in a way that will make it much easier to just install from scratch.
They asked for ELI5 and you gave them ELI CS undergrad
