Looks like Obsidian’s sync is $8/mo and is a bit messy to sync otherwise, if sharing between Android and Windows. Not a fan of that at all. Joplin sync just works.
Joplin user here. What does obsidian have that I might want? I remember briefly trying it years ago and disliking it.
Ever sat next to someone using the same discord chat and you hear them next to you with just your ears, then about 500ms later you hear them through discord? It shuts my brain off.

I use Phillips Hue bulbs and Kasa outlets. I try to avoid WiFi when I have ZigBee and Z-Wave but the outlets have been flawless for me for years, and on sale their incredibly cheap. Dunno about security.
Using compose makes it a hundred times easier to understand and interact with. Also using Linux.
Customizable grid size on both the home screen and app drawer are the two biggest for me. Also being able to hide apps from the drawer while keeping them installed. Home screen gestures are a big one that I don’t personally use anymore.
Japan what the hell? When I’m there I usually go hours without seeing another white person, depending on where I’m at.
