Can you not just run the curl or wget without piping it into bash, first? This way you could inspect what the script wants to do.

Are you certain that Element does not run in the background? It always does for me, both on my Samsung with OneUI and on another Samsung with LineageOS. Perhaps not really helpful, but my observation is that Element’s background “listening for notifications” is quite reliable. Might this be due to some settings in your OS?
No. Windows embodies the antithesis to computing freedom. This alone makes it evil and means it should be destroyed.
Whoa the disrespect. The way she threw away C++ haha
Also, the whole thing was next-level cringe
I genuinely can’t tell at whom you are addressing this. Those claiming it is a Windows problem or those that say otherwise?
Poor sweet little hinges 😭
Not a single real language 😈
Interesting, but there’s not much meat to this story yet. We’ll see how it’ll be
Nah it was actually funny. Americans are hyper-sensitive when it comes to 9/11 but not the hundreds of thousands or millions of deaths your government has caused in the subsequent “war on terror”.
I would like to try. I am a very passionate GNU/Linux user and advocate who spends much time on Lemmy and who would like to keep future discussion in this community civil and on-topic. But I do not have any modding experience so far, however, I have successfully helped transition friends and local institutions (partially) to GNU/Linux and to use FOSS programs.
The variable is not initialised.
Logging into a non-indexible proprietary service just to be able to read the documentation definitely does not contribute to accessibility.
Incorporating parts from a free and open-source Unix-like operating system does not make your OS FOSS. Apple would be the last company to contribute their MacOS source code.
Man, I love this template 😍
Well okay, but iOS is not FOSS while Android (AOSP) is
Dumbed down, your brain is also just a probability model.
I don’t want it to have any JavaScript
That’s not going to happen. I also don’t understand why you wouldn’t want JavaScript. All the concerns with it are about the times when you access a website by a proprietary software maker and encounter obfuscated and opaque code that you can only with great difficulty reconstruct what it does. But JavaScript “in the right hands”, like on a FOSS website, is perfectly fine and even required to make a webpage that can actually do something more than simply display text or images.
I would personally attempt the Kubernetes cluster if I had that many physical machines!
What do you mean? Variables do not necessarily need to be used, you can allocate memory for some value and initialise it but then simply don’t do anything with it.
Had to experience that first hand. I tried to get my best friends to register on my Matrix server last September and join a room for our group, and they did, but I rarely see any of them online and I only get responses days later, if at all. One even stopped using it entirely, lol. Ah well, but at least I got a Matrix server out of that that I can use to federate with other like-minded people.
